What does New York City do with all of its garbage?
I know that landfills in NYC and surrounding areas filled up a while ago...so what exactly does NYC do with all of its garbage? I think I heard a while ago that they would dump it all in the middle of PA...maybe they do the same in south Jersey, and just keep moving outwards?
Also, why don't they just start shooting garbage at the sun...yes it's far fetched but maybe someday they can free up a lot of landfills when it becomes more economical to rocket debris into space over burying it in the ground...they could use a solar powered rocket so that after the initial boosters, it will have enough energy to keep going in space (break the gravitational pull of the earth) and find its way to the sun where it will harmlessly blow up.
