Solar Power Questions:

In any future, will Americans have careers in any production enterprise?

Can the consumption culture that we have created ever compete for production (manufacturing) with the non-consumption nations (eg China)? The time scale beyond start-ups/innovator enterprises (5-15 yrs).
Here's what happens to a Massachsetts producer of solar power equipment: The start-up generates patents and government subsidies and starts to grow. Once company operations exceed precise commitments and agreements, management starts to send unprofitable production to China by creating subsidaries. After a time, depending on Chinese law, subsidaries buy parent company.

Medical instruments, pace makers by law are enforced to be made in the States (due to quality concerns or protectionists policy). Free trade can only work if both parties are equal partners. China produces at very low prices, and restricts consumption of American made goods. a great amount of money is made by Chinese - which in return is invested in USA at higher interests rates.

China does what it should to become a world power. USA companies do what they should maximizing their profits by lowering their cost - otherwise they would be out-priced by the competitors in global economy. everyone is happy except the USA economy and (3/4 of which is consumer spending) which diminishes due to higher taxation by govt, unemployment, less disposable income...

So No. production will not boom in USA - where someone else can do it at fraction of the cost.
