of solar cells is not a big secret. Though some of the more advanced technologies are approaching some respectable efficiencies (think 10-15%) most consumer-level products are big, bulky, expensive and have conversion rates hovering below 10% --- Now... what if you could have a solar technology with low efficiency rates, but that was also cheap, durable, and could be deployed on pretty much ANY surface? Power Film Solar tries to give us that with their flexible solar cells. Not only are ...

They have a business from this. There is always some engineering drop-out willing to tell people they are stupid for not doing it themselves.
For anyone who doesn’t want to go out and buy titanium foil, chemicals, & build a laminating machine, etc. The PowerFilm panels are the best flexible panels on the market. Use them for portable applications like charging laptops, cameras, iPods, AA charging, and other needs.
ModernOutpost outlines these applications.
Cost is not where it shold be. Cost is where they want it to be. Utility companies and oil companies aren’t going to give in that easily. In fact they are in the process of buying control of the solar industry as we speak, mark my words they may win! If we let them.
These produts are over priced. So are photoboltaic panels s well as most of the other prducts concering anything GREEN. Once agin big business is screwing us. They get millons in grants then turn around and pull this crap o us everytime. Rel cost a this time is less then fossil fuels don’ let anyone tell you differently. Did the old company’s post all time ernings over the past few years. So where’s the real cost of fosil fuels? Thus where’s te real cost of solar related products? Solar = less.
15.8$ for a single watt?, nobody will buy this,
i will post a video how to construct these at home from simple Titanium dioxide aluminium foil and dye fucking simple, THEY WANT TO MAKE BUSINESS FROM THIS TOO, WAKE UP PEOPLE<
Too expensive for me! Cut prices to 50% and i will buy.
paint on soler panel come out with that
Do you make ball shaped sphere solar panels making it easier to catch solar light in all directions while driving.
Yeah fair enouh, i would love to see it come down in price (quite a lot XD) and i would buy one.. thanks for the vid
shabam87,
First, “I” didn’t sell any… because “I” don’t sell things. I simply produce an IPTV show about interesting technologies.
Second, new technologies are ALWAYS expensive. The first IBM PC was today’s equivilant of $10k. The first series of laptops were underpowered $4k pieces of junk. The first high-performance Apple(the IIfx) was $12k. — As the technology become commonplace, it becomes cheaper — Reviewing it now is called FORESIGHT.

Peace,
Fr. Robert
60 watts at $950!! and that was your best seller pfff how many did you sell… 3?
Those solar chargers seem a bit big JUST to get up to sixty watts. I would expect something like… At least two hundred watts.
I’ll just wait patiently for the curved LCD interview. (If you have one)
Your right. In a year or two this product will proberly be under $100.
you can always buy a couple extra batteries for 950$ xD
:]
IHATEJOO,
You’re right… $950 IS a lot, but prices will continue to fall. That’s just the nature of the market — in the meantime, it’s great that some businesses are developing this kind of tech.
.
Peace,
Fr. Robert
Axcelaration,
I understand the sentiment… but what will you do with the brand-new laptop after the battery dies?
.
Peace,
Fr. Robert
Thank you Father Roberts! We really appreciate what you’re doing. Keep at it!
i’d buy a computer with 950$, not a crappy Solar Panel
OMG I want that laptop charger, but $950 is not worth it.. unless you camp a lot
