The Futuristic Last Resort Could Bring Fully Sustainable Solar Powered Floating Homes To The Market As Early As the End of This Year!
This very futuristic styled house has a fully self-functional and highly practical design that won a recent competition; which secured the designers funding to bring a quick start to fabricating these solar powered floating homes.
They call their home design the "Last Resort" and have full expectations of starting the fabrication of these homes before the end of 2010. This is all thanks to the fresh and innovative thinking of RAFFA Architectures & Designs. The competition that they won; which was put forth by Internationale Bauausstellung in Germany, will allow for the necessary funding that is needed to start building these floating homes. They are designed to be fully sustainable and their size is designed to be 5 meters by 15 meters. These Last Resort homes will soon provide some very real waterfront living options that are modern, comfortable, energy efficient and environmentally friendly.
The Last Resort has a simple entrance design to the home, by means of a covered terrace area; from which you can either enter directly into the home or go up the staircase to the roof. The roof serves as a relaxing area where you can sit back, bask in the sun, and enjoy the watery views. Also located on the roof, you will find 2 fully equipped sets of solar panels that are designed to produce all the renewable energy needed to power the home and propel its two electric motors.
The design is both sleek and stylish with the interior consisting of 2 bedrooms; each with 2 beds and sliding doors for privacy; along with a kitchen, living room and bathroom. The kitchen and living room form one open and generous sized area. The modern design has the bathroom separating the common living space from the bedroom areas. The large interior windows have vertical blinds offering a dual purpose of both sun protection and privacy.
The plans show the lower level offering additional sleeping quarters with 2 bunks, hatches and an area to house the mechanical parts and motors; the engine room. The home is naturally shaped with a softly molded design of slants and curves.
Although there has been no mention of how much these homes will cost, orders for these homes have all ready been reported, and they are scheduled to start fabrication for those orders before the end of this year. Quite possibly you will soon see these homes floating along the waters with many happy families on-board.
RAFAA Architecture &Designsare also making headlines for their Solar City Tower concept. Their advanced technological designs have captured tremendous interest and excitement on the Eco-friendly "Green Front". Their Solar Tower designs call for a spectacular solar powered waterfall and elegantly designed tower; which is expected to house the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Jenerio, Brazil.
