Solar Powered Fan For Car
Do you think this is a good idea for Japan's car pollution problem?
I've just returned from there and was shocked at how polluted it was for such a beautiful country.Especially considering the Japanese are so technically advanced.
One idea i had (whilst being smothered in smoke fumes ^^) was to have devices at just above ground level which are like fans but suck in the fumes and convert them to friendly gas - they would then emit the gas as cool or hot air depending on the outside air temperature..these would be all along the city/town roads at about 5 metre intervals and would be solar powered.Pedestrians and even the motorists themselves would benefit from having cleaner air to breathe which improves quality of life substantially.
Very good in theory.
Consider how big the suction fans would have to be and how much energy it would take to power them. If solar was the power source then a very large solar array would be requires. For these large suction fans to run at night then a very large bank of batteries would be required to supply the power.
Tearing up the streets in just Tokyo to build underground tunnels would take years and the cost would be staggering.
Building plants to convert auto emissions into friendly gases and discharging them safely would be a major undertaking.
