Alternative Energy Funds Uk

Landfill Tax - Should consumers pay extra?
Do you think the UK and other counrties should follow Irelands example & charge a small tax for things like plastic carrier bags that take up so much landfill space to raise funds for other 'greener' alternatives like increased recycling plants, green energy plants etc. With landfill filling up so quickly & supermarkets selling products at ridiculously low prices surely consumers worldwide can afford a few more pence on top of each product that comes in non-recyclable packaging to offset their waste. What do you think?
It is a good thought. We should pay landfill tax. But, at the same time, government should encourage people to return recyclable goods in exchange of money. I know, in India, there are people who pay you for selling old news papers, plastic and glass bottles, etc- anything that can be recycled. Those people, then sell it to the companies who recycle those things. It will not only be a good economy but also will encourage people to reduce waste and to do more recycling.
