Alternative Energy Wind Turbines
Freeholders hear presentation on Union Beach wind turbine
BY JACQUELINE HLAVENKA Staff Writer The Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders listened to a presentation from the Bayshore Regional Sewerage Authority (BRSA) about the 380- foot-tall industrial wind turbine planned for Union Beach, at a work session meeting on Aug. 12. read more

Solar Power Questions:
could we use alternative energy if a solar storm hit?
I want to know why scientists are SO STUPID AND BLIND! lol apparently there are solar storms coming in 2013 that will destroy our satellites, well why don't they re move the satellites for a couple of weeks during the solar storm so they don't become damaged? it's better than them being destroyed forever, and also since they say that the storm will blow up or transformers because so much energy, well did they forget about using wind energy, and solar energy since theres so much solar energy coming in? and also water energy like the turbine. and then they say that since we can't have electricity because of the transformers that we won't be able to drill for oil, so no one can go anywhere, but then the solar and wind and water energy that turns into electricity to drill for it, and if I am right, where can I suggest these Ideas to scientists
Solar storms come and go every 11 or so years. 11 years ago, we had considerably fewer satellites then now so a solar storm will disrupt them but only if scientists, engineers, NASA technicians, and other professionals who deal in this field, fail to see one coming and have not prepared satellites for such disturbances, both of which are highly unlikely. Besides, scientists are now debating whether this storm will be as violent as previously predicted. Usually, satellites are turned off or are directed to positions away from the immediate vicinity of the damage. Also, on the issue of alternative sources of fuel, solar and wind energy come nowhere close to the efficiency of oil due to the fact that the infrastructure is not there to support such a system. To transform a whole infrastructure to support such sources of fuel would require 30 years at the least.
